During the weekend’s Talk About Local Unconference, we put aside a session on the general election which everyone attending was able to take part in.
Planning for this year’s election figures highly with many hyperlocal websites and the following list of ideas, hope, fears and tools are what the group on the day came up with and which might prompt some inspiration for others.

IDEAS
- Page for each ward so candidate has space
- Crowdsource 5 questions for people to ask an MP
- Where do candidates stand on this locality and also where do they live
- Organise a hustings and invite locals with problems
- Video interviews with candidates
- Twitterfall live during hustings
- Photos or scans for election leaflets/lit
- Look back to coverage from last election to see whether they’ve done/failed etc.
- Use GoogleHangout to archive and broadcast any live hustings
- Timed twitter chats eg. #electionhour
- Twitter lists of all candidates
- Open blog page for candidate’s own use
- Bookies odds on candidates
- Polling station location maps via local council
- Procedural info, dates etc. via local council
